Liberty School House

We have recently been offered a wonderful school house called "Liberty School."  It was built approximately 1854, and it is currently residing at Fellows Lake. We think this school house would be a wonderful addition to our site and a great addition to our program.

We are currently in the process of acquiring the funds to move and restore the building to the Gray/Campbell Farmstead at the Nathanael Greene Park to preserve the heritage of our ancestors education, and to educate the next generation.

UPDATE (7 - 10 - 12):

Michelle Atkinson and David Burton were contacted by the Farm Bureau Magazine to write an article about a one room school, so the Saving Liberty project was selected.

Renee Steumph and Shannon, two interns from Jefferson City came and interviewed Michelle, David, and Norma Tolbert about the Liberty School.  After the interview, Norma took the interns to the school for pictures.

The magazine issue will be the September-October issue and will come out at the end of August.  This will hopefully stir some state-wide interest in the Saving Liberty project.
