Special Events at the Farmstead

The 1860's Lifestyle Exposition
is always the 3rd weekend it September, the dates for 2013 are the 21st and 22nd. It will be from 11am - 4:30pm on saturday, and on sunday from 12pm - 4:30pm.

Activities will include:
  • Blacksmith Demonstrations
  • Apple Butter Making
  • Apple Cider Making
  • Open Hearth Cooking
  • Lye Soap Making
  • Clogging
  • Wagon Rides
  • Music
  • Leathercrafting
  • Fiber Arts
  • Story Telling
  • Food from a concession stand available.

    Lots of shade and educational fun for everyone!

    All four buildings will be open for touring, plus more demonstrations.

    Admission is free - Donations Accepted

This fun event will be a big jam session of bluegrass! 
Join us on Saturday,
April 27 from 11:00am to 5:00pm.

There will be red and white checkered spots to sit in the park, so bring a picnic lunch! 
There will also be concessions available.

Our events are a whole bunch of fun, and a fantastic learning experience, so come on out!


Dont' forget about our annual apple pie contest at Lifestyle.

No pre-registration, but you must have the pie at the farmstead by 2:15pm on Sunday, September 22nd, 2013.The contest is at 3:00pm.
Crust and filling must be homemade.
2-crust pies only-no crumb toppings.
Can be baked in any type of pie pan.

Pies will be judged this way:
  • Apperance - 15 points
  • Crust flavor and texture - 20 points
  • Flavor, consistency and moistness of pie filling - 25 points
  • Overall flavor - 30 points
  • Creativity - 10 points
